TankerMap —
Free Global Tanker Tracker
TankerMap is a free, real-time tracking platform for LNG tankers and crude oil tankers worldwide. We aggregate AIS (Automatic Identification System) position data from multiple sources to give you an accurate, up-to-date view of global tanker movements.
What We Track
TankerMap monitors 4,000+ vessels across two major categories:
- LNG tankers — liquefied natural gas carriers operating on global trade routes
- Crude oil tankers — VLCC, Suezmax, and Aframax vessels transporting crude oil worldwide
How It Works
Our platform collects AIS position data from tankers. Each vessel's position, speed, course, draught, and destination are updated continuously. We calculate cargo load status from draught readings — giving you insight into whether a vessel is loaded or in ballast.
Key Chokepoints We Cover
TankerMap tracks vessel movements through the world's most critical maritime chokepoints:
Data Sources
Position data is sourced from TankerMap AIS networks, updated periodically. Historical track data is available for up to 30 days per vessel.
Who Uses TankerMap
TankerMap is used by energy analysts, commodity traders, oil traders, investors, shipping researchers, journalists, and maritime enthusiasts who need free, accessible tanker tracking without registration.
