Skikda LNG

Algeria's second LNG export terminal, located near the city of Skikda on the Mediterranean coast, approximately 350 km east of Arzew. The current facility (GL1K rebuilt, GL2K) has a capacity of approximately 5 MTPA. The original plant suffered a catastrophic explosion in January 2004, killing 27 workers and destroying three of six trains. The rebuilt facility uses improved safety designs. Like Arzew, Skikda primarily serves European markets.
