About Idku LNG
A two-train LNG export facility located near the Mediterranean coast at Idku, approximately 50 km east of Alexandria. With a combined capacity of approximately 7.2 MTPA, Idku also experienced extended downtime when Egyptian domestic demand consumed available gas. Like Damietta, Idku has benefited from new offshore discoveries and resumed exports. The facility is a joint venture involving Shell/BG Group, PETRONAS, and EGAS (Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company).
