About Arzew LNG
Algeria's primary LNG export complex, located near the city of Arzew on the Mediterranean coast. Operated by Sonatrach, the complex includes multiple liquefaction facilities (GL1Z, GL2Z, GL3Z) with a combined capacity of approximately 18-19 MTPA. Algeria was one of the world's first LNG exporters (1964), and Arzew remains the backbone of its gas export infrastructure. The complex processes gas piped from the Hassi R'Mel field and other Saharan gas sources. Europe is the primary market, with long-standing supply contracts to France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey.
