About Arctic LNG 2

Novatek's second Arctic LNG project, located on the Gydan Peninsula across the Ob Bay from Yamal LNG. Designed for three trains of 6.6 MTPA each (19.8 MTPA total), using gravity-based structure (GBS) platforms — a first for LNG. The first train began producing LNG in late 2023, but the project has been significantly impacted by Western sanctions, causing delays in delivery of Arc7 carriers and equipment. Despite sanctions, limited cargoes have been shipped using available vessels and ship-to-ship transfers.
