A Black Sea oil port in Krasnodar Krai, approximately 130 km southeast of Novorossiysk. Tuapse serves as both a crude oil export terminal and the location of the Rosneft Tuapse refinery (240,000 bpd capacity). The port handles exports of crude oil and refined products via the Transneft pipeline system. Smaller than Novorossiysk, Tuapse is nonetheless one of Russia's key Black Sea energy export points. The port is also subject to winter bora wind disruptions, though less frequently than Novorossiysk.
