Delfin Midstream is close to proceeding with what would be the first floating LNG export project in the United States, according to Bloomberg. For TankerMap, the significance is structural rather than immediate: a floating export model on the US Gulf Coast would add a new loading concept for LNG shipping, potentially widening future carrier deployment options and export flexibility.

The project is not yet online, so it does not alter current vessel movements. But a go-ahead would still matter for LNG markets because it could create another US origin point for seaborne gas, expand optionality for charterers and gradually influence long-haul trade patterns between the Gulf, Europe and Asia. That makes it one of the stronger non-Hormuz items in this queue, with direct relevance to LNG shipping and future fleet demand.
